We're worried using this seat as the anchors + seat belt only secure the very front of the seat, and the seat can easily be moved side to side and up and down. It really doesn't feel secure but with the omphalocele we have no other option. Is the seat supposed to feel loose after installation? We've tried using the passenger seat to wedge the top of the Jefferson seat between the headrest and back of the passenger seat to make it more solid, but worry about how safe that is too.

Although I have never been in a locking car seat with these guards, I can't imagine it would be that hard to get out with a little bit of strategy and flexibility. I bet I would be able to escape with maybe a little difficulty, and if I couldn't I would carry a pen in my pocket to unlock both guards. The pen for the crotch, and the cap for the chest. Also, any older kid could probably break the chest chip, especially the small prongs since it's made of plastic so it can never clip again, the parents would have to keep replacing it and would eventually stop using it.

Once we got pulled over by the police bc my dad forgot to put his lights on don't worry it wasn't dangerous though then the police man looked behind at my 12 year old self in a freaking 5 point harness c at seat locked they got sus bc I looked weird bc my parents buckled me in so tight so the police man offered to place me in my car seat locked in and strapped in property dumb parents agreed and it was so embarrassing😭 also when I had friends come round I would give them lifts my mum lifted my 12 year old self in to my fckin car seat strapped me in even tighter this time them locked me in my friend got to sit in the front and she kept looking back at me in my car seat when we would get out the car shed immediately go run to me and watch while my mom slowly un buckled me

Ok, what happens in case of a crash, child won't be able to get out and escape the car because chest clip is locked, good thinking, but bad idea, even firefighters or anyone that could want to rescue the child won't be able to unlock it easily.
Any adult can open it by Thier fingers but the person secured in the harness can't put fingers in the buckle because the harness prevents us from moving forward and the buckle is unreachable
@@hamzaafzal7321 Basically every modern five point harness seat for teenagers have a child lock in its buckle. Even without a thing Like this. And the seats without a child lock system are still so hard and Impossible for us to open, that it still works like a child lock in fact. 😅

Why have a lock on the chest clip, but not on the actual harness buckle? It's the latter that gives the security as it stops the wearer sliding out.
The Harness Buckel can not be unlocked from the Child because there is a Cover over it Only a Person from outside can unlock it with a key or a Finger
i use this car seat I can't remove the belt because the buckle is locked by my parents.I was forced to sit in this car seat for 5 hours as punishment.During that time, I tried to unfasten the buckle, but the Adjuststrap was tightened and I couldn't unfasten the buckle.
How old are you and buckling as punishment?
I'm 10 years old and still get punished for bad behavior with my buckles locked.

@@cymarie_ If I do something wrong, they put me in a car seat and lock the buckle. The chest clip is also locked and cannot be removed.

Your parents lock you in? It’s odd enough that you’re still strapped in at 17 years old, but you should at least be able to strap and tighten yourself. Have you asked your parents if you could strap yourself in?

I really dont know why people here would like to sit in such a harness. I bet if these people would sit in this harness a couple of hours they would say something different.

I'm 12 years old and unfortunately I'm still in a 5-point harness child seat. The problem is that I can't unbuckle myself because of the latch on the crotch strap and that chest clip guard.

today I am 23 years old and I still think that the 5 point harness should be compulsory in all countries until at least 16 years old. I have no disability, I am completely normal and I wouldn't mind if I was tied up in a seat with a harness like this one. I would feel safer in a harness seat like this I think you are right I would also feel calm to be tied up like this. It might do me good not to be free as you say. I am no longer in a seat like the one in the car I drive now and that is compulsory until 8/10 years in my country she has a smile on top of that so her must amuse her and not embarrass her. I'm 23 years old and I wouldn't mind being in his place even to make a video
When you are a child, it is okay, but as a teenager, I don't think it's needed. You are way too old for that even at just 10 or 11 years old. Or at least, that's what I think. And by the way, if 16-year-olds with no disabilities sat in a car seat tied like that, they would be teased by their friends until they turned 40. This is not an insult, just my opinion, obviously, and you are allowed to think the way you do.
@@LucyQ-ew6zp yes a child of 16 could try a car seat like this, I don't see why he would be teased by it's friends, it's friends should try too and so on. and if it was mandatory, no one would bother like this, and maybe even some would keep the habit of sitting here. like wearing a helmet on a bike, there's nothing to be ashamed of
that's fair, i already get buckled in a harness booster with these chest and crotch guards and i'm 15 (no disability). it's rlly not as bad as ppl think. i'd prefer to still use a harness booster until i no longer fit in one, like even if i was ur age
